Host the first joint Vietnamese and Korean American Chambers of Commerce Business Expo . This expo will stimulate interest in local business and is in line with the city’s buy in garden grove (bigg) promotion. The expo will allow for social and professional interaction between the two emerging Asian American markets in the United States. It will generate goodwill between the community and more importantly demonstrate the purchasing power of Korean and Vietnamese Americans living in Orange County.
Through the expo we’ll show attendees how to obtain government and supplier contracts, and ability to work directly with large private corporations. In addition, collaborative efforts such as this Expo will strengthen professional networks and build stronger ties between the two communities. The targeted demographic for this event is approximately 110,474 Vietnamese Americans (US Census, 2005) and 130,000 Korean Americans in Orange County (Korean Chamber of Commerce, 2011).
The Expo will be held at The Garden Grove Community Center on Wednesday, Sept 14th, 2011. Expected attendance will be over 1000 guests to include local political electives, business owners, and VIP guests of the community. This event will be historic in that the Vietnamese and Korean communities will have the opportunity to network and create new business ties.
